Chloe Grace Moretz, who stars in the upcoming The 5th Wave, is set for another adaptation that is sure to make an impact!

Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness is a gripping and emotional memoir about Susannah Cahalan, a young New York Post reporter, and her struggle with a rare and terrifying disease, opening a new window into the fascinating world of brain science. It’s not only a fascinating tale, but brings light to medical research on the autoimmune disease that was greatly affecting her.

Deadline reports that Broad Green Pictures is teaming with Charlize Theron’s Denver & Delilah and Foundation Features to produce and finance Brain On Fire, with Chloe set to play the lead role. Thomas Mann will also star in the film.

Broad Green Pictures’ chief creative officer Daniel Hammond shared his excitement in bringing the film to life:

“We are excited to work with this incredible group of filmmakers and actors to bring Susannah Cahalan’s life story to the big screen. With the help of our partners at Mister Smith, we will be able to share this incredibly moving film with a global audience.”

Principal photography begins July 13 in Vancouver and the film is set for release in 2016.
