Katherine Waterston in ‘Inherent Vice’

After one of our users correctly cast Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander in the upcoming Harry Potter Spin-off, we were eagerly waiting to learn who would play his wife, Porpentina. Reportedly on the short list for the part was model Kate UptonElizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby), and Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice).

Now, Collider reports that Waterston is the lucky choice and will play Tina (short for Porpentina), a witch living in the U.S. who crosses paths with Scamander when he stops in New York City on his travels to find and document magical creatures.

The studio is reportedly looking to find more established faces for Fantastic Beasts as opposed to the newcomers who were cast in Harry Potter. With that in mind, Fanning and Ronan seem like they have an edge. As for Jacob, we would really love to see Zissis on the big screen – he’s quite funny in HBO’s Togetherness!
