This is a very unique casting opportunity as the main character, Lara Jean, and her two sisters are half Korean and half American. Finding mixed Asian actresses in the right age range for each character could prove challenging. While Lara Jean and her older sister Margot are described as appearing similar to their Korean mother, their younger sister Kitty is described as looking more like their father, with lighter brown hair and eyes.

Do you think a fully Asian actress could accurately portray Laura Jean or do you think it’s imperative that the actress be mixed? Propose your ideas to help the casting director or browse and support existing proposals on The IF List!
